We will make a mutually agreed verbal contract whether for time-limited or open-ended work.
How do I choose a counsellor?
It is advisable to check that the therapist is fully trained and accredited by searching for him/her on www.bacp.co.uk or www.ukcp.co.uk.
Membership of these bodies should ensure standards in the following areas.
� Terms, conditions and methods of treatment
� Client confidentiality
� Practitioner competence
� Professional behaviour
� Post-qualification supervision and continuing professional development
However most importantly use your intuition. Do you feel this is someone you can talk to about deeply personal issues?
How confidential is counselling?
Confidentiality is essential to ensure the trust necessary for good counselling. I follow the BACP Code of Good Practice regarding confidentiality. I will explain confidentiality more fully in the initial consultation.
What are your fees?
My fees are between £45 and £60 per session depending on the location and individual circumstances. I occasionally have a low fee space available.
What is the frequency and duration of sessions?
Sessions are typically once weekly and last for 50 minutes, except for the initial consultation which may be longer.
Do you have Professional indemnity Insurance?
Yes, I have ongoing annual cover. I am happy to provide evidence of it, as well as of my professional training qualifications should you request it.
